October Purchases Benefit Nancy Cares

SIMPLYWEIGHTS, llc, (Wayne, PA) makers of BANGLZ and SMARTSLIP products is helping raise money and awareness to a local foundation, “NANCY CARES” and PENN Radiology this month.

“Nancy cares”, started by Mrs Nancy Roach, a cancer survivor, is providing free mammogram screening days for uninsured women who want testing. The NANCY CARES project helps hundreds of local uninsured women each year get screenings they can’t afford otherwise through PENN at Radnor.

Spring Cleaning Workouts

Many times, when people hear the word "exercise," they begin to hyperventilate as they create a variety of reasons (excuses) why they shouldn’t do it. While I’m an advocate of gym workouts—because of the greater variety of exercise options and intensity variables—there is no reason why any one of us can’t burn extra calories during our daily activities.

Even if you already work out at a gym—say five times per week, one hour each session—that still wouldn’t suffice for keeping your body optimally conditioned. Considering that the body was designed to be in motion, five hours of exercise out of the 168 hours in a week is not enough to be truly fit. For those who don’t work out, there’s an even greater need for vigorous daily activities. There is an energy balance equation: calories in (foods and beverages consumed) versus calories out (physical activities) determines whether we store excess fat or stay/become leaner and healthier.

A little exercise can have big benefits

Strength training - whether through weights, machines or other forms of resistance - has been shown to help Baby Boomers stay active and help stave off the aches and pains that come with the aging process.

The Journal of the American Medical Association released a study in December showing that regular physical exercise in general helped individuals age 60 and older maintain mobility and live longer.

Recommenation for wearing the product:

For active lifestyles & individuals:
Wear your Banglz for 1 hour the first day so that you can gage your own health and fitness level. Add an hour each day for a maximum of 8 hours a day. Plan to wear them when you are involved in normal daily activities for maximum benefit. After this you won't want to miss a day!

For Inactive Lifestyles & Individuals with no regular exercise habits:
Place them on just before you are involved in a daily activity (such as daily dressing) versus sitting stationary.
